Can I Shoot 18 Guage Brad Nails In Bamboo Flooring Trim

We got started Fri subsequently work, put in a long 24-hour interval on Saturday, and finished upwardly on Lord's day. My sons were there to help, but they aren't the handiest of handymen :o :waiting:

I bought a new 18 gauge flooring nailer for the task. It was going to be $100 to rent one, for $225 I only bought it, and now I ain it. I had i jam that took me about 30 minutes to articulate, simply part of that was learning how to have it apart and put it dorsum together. Other then that one jamb the nailer was flawless. As someone mentioned information technology took a piffling while to get the optimum pressure dialed in, but once I did it went smoothly, but a few cracked tongues and a couple dumb user errors.

First reactions to the cloth include;  holy crap this stuff is hard, dang the splinters are painful, and 1/2" material is a PIA compared to three/four textile.

My son paid up for the better quality underlayment. It is supposed to dampen dissonance (he'southward on the 2d floor) and add together a footling cushion to the very hard bamboo. Easy to put downwardly. Here's the showtime two courses of underlayment;

The area was a 500' living room surface area, a hallway and some closets. He decided he wanted the hallway to be run lengthwise and the living room to run the opposite management. I think information technology was a good selection;

Here'due south a view from the forepart door looking in. The casings on all the doors was old schoolhouse metal that I chose not to cut every bit I normally would had they been wood. That fabricated for a lot of scribing which was a PIA and admittedly not my strongest suit. Merely with some caulk I call up it volition okay.

And hither is a shot of the principal living room expanse;

I have to say this is a condo in a pretty sometime complex. The new flooring made a HUGE departure in updating the identify. It's bright and clean, and I think it looks great. The bathroom and kitchen are slated for upgrades somewhere down the route, but for now this is a good start.

I drank a beer or 2 on my back watching the Giants game Sun afternoon. As my back cramped up I realized I am not as young as I used to be, and I am darned glad I don't lay flooring for a living. :)
